Santal majuscule

Santal majuscule celebrates sandalwood "written in capital letters". Serge Lutens stages the obvious, almost natural accord of bitter cocoa and creamy sandalwood, lifted by a jammy rose.

The rose, ample and fruity, opens the composition; cocoa, powdery and slightly bitter, answers it; sandalwood closes the whole on a milky, dry warmth. A woody gourmand, velvety and sophisticated.

Composed by Christopher Sheldrake under the direction of Serge Lutens, Santal majuscule is happily worn on cool days and in the evening, in every season.

Expert tip

The house

SERGE LUTENS

Serge Lutens, born in 1942 in Lille, is a French artist of many talents: photographer, filmmaker, fashion architect and perfume creator. After early work in hairstyling and make-up, he collaborated with prestigious magazines such as Vogue. In 1980 he began a defining collaboration with Shiseido, shaping the brand's visual identity and launching iconic fragrances such as "Féminité du bois" in 1992. In 2000 he founded his own perfume house, Serge Lutens, offering unique, avant-garde olfactory creations. Deeply influenced by Marrakech, where he acquired a residence in 1974, he draws major inspiration from the city for his fragrances. Today, the Serge Lutens house is recognised for its artistic approach and its commitment to originality and quality.
