A Parisian house born from an idea of Jung's

BETENOIR is a Parisian niche fragrance house built on Carl Gustav Jung's notion of the Persona: the social mask we construct to please others. Beneath that mask, the house sees a raw and sincere part of ourselves, which it calls "the beast". Its fragrances do not try to transform the wearer, but to reveal what is already there.

Three perfumers, five personalities

The collection brings together five unisex eaux de parfum, conceived as personalities rather than pyramids. Bertrand Duchaufour signs NO FILTER, a leathery, smoky woody, and NUIT BLANCHE, a gourmand woody with ambergris. Vincent Ricord composes OFFLINE, a spicy leather with oud, and SOUVERAIN, a leathery, musky chypre. Théo Monterosso, a perfumer of the new generation, imagines DRAMA, a fruity amber with saffron and suede.

A mirrored bottle: 37 and 73 ml

Under the artistic direction of artist Neo Su, the black lacquered bottle hides a two-way magnetic cap. Its two sizes, 37 and 73 ml, echo the lucky numbers of the two founders, reversed like two reflections. To hesitate freely, the La Découverte set gathers the five fragrances in 1.5 ml miniatures.

A woody, leathery and amber signature

BETENOIR explores woody fragrances, leather fragrances and amber fragrances. Oud, ambergris and leather return from one fragrance to the next like a common thread.

BETENOIR at Soleil d'Or, a Lille perfumery since 1953

Founded in 1953 by Jeanne Muyllaert on the Grand'Place in Lille, Soleil d'Or is an independent perfumery handed down from generation to generation.
