Xerjoff Sergio Momo, Italian Excellence in Luxury Perfumery from Turin

Xerjoff was founded in 2007 in Turin by Sergio Momo — born in Turin in 1964, designer and former London advertising executive, trained in perfumery in Grasse in 2005. The name unites "Joff" (his childhood nickname from his Slavic grandmother) and "Sir" (the address used by his London colleagues). Philosophy: to create "a work of art within a work of art" — flacons adorned with semi-precious stones, meteorite fragments and gold-plated caps. Sergio Momo is also the founder of Casamorati 1888, relaunched in 2009.

Xerjoff: 9 collections to explore the excellence of Italian luxury perfumery

Sergio Momo: from London design to Turinese jewel flacons

Sergio Momo was born in Turin in 1964 into a family passionate about perfume — his father brought back essences from around the world, his grandmother collected precious Lanvin and Coty flacons. He earned a diploma in graphic arts and design, then moved to London where he worked for design and advertising agencies. In 2005, he completed courses in perfumery and distillation techniques in Grasse — a revelation. In 2007, he founded Xerjoff in Turin with Dominique Salvo via the Oystersin company. His first creation: an opulent perfume enclosed in a hand-sculpted and polished quartz flacon. During a trip to Moscow, a fascinated client commissioned several more — the Xerjoff story was launched. The first collection 17/17 Stone Label arrived in 2007, followed by Shooting Stars in 2009 — with semi-precious stone embellishments, meteorite fragments and gold-plated caps. Andrea Tessitore became president in 2018. Today: 13 boutiques worldwide (Turin, Milan, Monte-Carlo, Lisbon, Frankfurt, Harrods London, Dubai, Kuala Lumpur…), 1,500 retailers, 130 countries. The house has also collaborated with Brian May (Save Me Trust, 2021), Tony Iommi (Black Sabbath, 2021-2024) and Duran Duran (2025).

39 perfumes, 9 collections: from the iconic Naxos to royal orientals

The 1861 collection gathers the timeless classics — Naxos (aromatic honey-tobacco-lavender · the house's absolute icon) · Nio (woody · sandalwood · cedar). The XJ collection brings together the great classics: Erba Pura (sunny musky fruity · global bestseller) · Erba Gold · Accento (hyacinth-iris floral) · Accento Overdose · Opera (fruity oriental). The Alexandria collection: Alexandria II and Alexandria III — deep, bewitching orientals. The Join the Club collection: 40 Knots (aromatic · sea wind) · Comandante! · K'Bridge Club (gourmand). The Shooting Stars collection: Coro (fruity) · Starlight · Lua (floral). Precious orientals: Golden Dallah · Wardasina · Symphonium. Woodys: Richwood · Uden. The new Torino 21 (aromatic) is the latest creation bearing the name of the founding city.

Questions fréquentes sur les parfums XERJOFF

What does the name Xerjoff mean?

The name Xerjoff is a personal invention of Sergio Momo. It unites two nicknames: "Joff" — the childhood nickname given to him by his Slavic grandmother — and "Sir" — the address used by his London colleagues when he worked in advertising in London. "Sir Joff" became "Xerjoff". It is a brand that carries its founder's intimate history — between Italy, Slavic roots and England.

What is the Xerjoff best-seller?

Naxos (1861 collection) is the house's absolute icon — a honey, lavender, tobacco and cinnamon aromatic of exceptional complexity and longevity. Erba Pura (XJ collection) is the global bestseller — a sunny, musky fruity that is among the most-worn perfumes in niche perfumery. Alexandria II is the most revered of the house's orientals. Our discovery box lets you test before investing.

Why are Xerjoff flacons so exceptional?

Sergio Momo's philosophy is to create "a work of art within a work of art". Every Xerjoff flacon is designed as a collector's object: the first collections (17/17 Stone Label, Shooting Stars) are adorned with semi-precious stones, meteorite fragments and gold-plated caps. Every material is chosen in coherence with the fragrance's olfactory universe. The flacons are made by Italian artisans — the avant-garde form and golden caps reflect an authentic Turinese luxury.

What is the difference between Xerjoff and Casamorati?

Xerjoff (2007) is Sergio Momo's main house — contemporary, luxurious, bold, global. Casamorati 1888 is a historic Bologna house founded in 1888 by Claudio Casamorati, relaunched by Sergio Momo in 2009 with an Art Nouveau aesthetic and deliberate vintage touch — pompoms on flacons, Belle Époque packaging. The two houses coexist under the same founder: Xerjoff for Italian avant-garde, Casamorati for 19th-century perfumery heritage.

Which Xerjoff collections to start with?

For a first Xerjoff, the XJ collection is the most accessible: Erba Pura (universal fruity · global bestseller) is the ideal entry point. Accento (elegant floral) is perfect for a more floral profile. For a characterful aromatic: Naxos (honey-lavender-tobacco) is a revelation. For oriental: Alexandria II stands out. Our discovery box lets you explore the house before committing to a full bottle.
