AKRO: when everyday addictions become olfactory art

A house built on the concept of addiction

AKRO — from the French "accro", meaning addict — was born in 2018 from the meeting of two visions. Founder Anaïs Cresp was living in London's Ladbroke Grove, surrounded by intense urban smells: the coffee of bar counters, the leather of old Irish pubs, charcoal grills, whisky falling on ice. Rather than turning to classic flowers and fruits, she had a radical idea: bottle these addictions. Her father, Olivier Cresp — master perfumer at Firmenich since 1992, creator of Angel (Mugler), Light Blue (D&G), Black Opium (YSL) and Mon Paris (YSL) — turned this dream into reality. Together, they founded a house that resembles no other in niche perfumery.

The AKRO style: boldness, clarity, unisex

AKRO perfumes share a recognisable signature: concentrated accords, premium Firmenich raw materials, and immediate clarity. Bake — the absolute best-seller at 45% of sales — is a gourmand perfume of brown caramel, salt and immortelle of addictive precision. Haze and Smoke explore aromatic and smoky territories with rare audacity. Dark and Rise extend the gourmand universe into remarkable cocoa and coffee directions. Ink ventures into woody territory, Night and Infuse into floral aromatic. Every AKRO creation is unisex — a fundamental conviction of the house.

Frequently asked questions about AKRO perfumes

Who is behind the AKRO brand?

AKRO was founded in 2018 by Anaïs Cresp and her father Olivier Cresp, master perfumer at Firmenich — creator of Mugler's Angel, Dolce & Gabbana's Light Blue, YSL's Black Opium and Mon Paris. Anaïs leads the artistic direction, Olivier signs all compositions with first-choice ingredients. A unique father-daughter collaboration in niche perfumery.

What does AKRO mean?

AKRO comes from the French word "accro" — addict. The brand is built around everyday addictions: morning coffee, evening whisky, smoke, chocolate. Rather than drawing inspiration from classic flowers and fruits, AKRO bottles the smells that fascinate us and that we cannot resist.

What is the AKRO best-seller?

Bake is the absolute best-seller of the house, representing 45% of sales. This gourmand perfume of brown caramel, salt and immortelle is a perfect demonstration of Olivier Cresp's mastery. Rise (espresso coffee), Dark (dark cocoa) and Awake complete the house's gourmand quartet. Our personalised discovery box lets you test them before committing to a bottle.

Are AKRO perfumes unisex?

Yes — every AKRO perfume is unisex, without exception. It is a fundamental conviction of the house. Addictions have no gender: coffee, whisky, smoke or caramel belong to everyone. Our personalised discovery box lets you test AKRO on your skin before investing in a full bottle.

Which olfactory families does AKRO cover?

AKRO primarily covers gourmand perfumes (Bake, Crush, Dark, Awake, Rise), aromatic perfumes (Haze, Smoke, Breathe) and woody perfumes (Ink). The house also explores floral perfumes (Night, Infuse, Malt) and fruity perfumes (Smile, East) — a palette that reflects the DNA of a house with no olfactory borders.
