Who is behind the Sensaï brand?

Sensaï is the prestige brand of Kanebo, one of the oldest Japanese cosmetics groups, founded in 1887. Originally a silk company, Kanebo noticed in the 1930s the exceptional beauty of the hands of the artisans who spun the silk. This observation sparked decades of scientific research, leading to the launch of Sensaï in 1983, specifically for the European prestige market. Today, Sensaï is one of the world's benchmarks in luxury skincare of Japanese origin.

What is Koishimaru silk?

It is Sensaï's signature ingredient: an extremely rare variety of Japanese silk, once reserved exclusively for the Imperial Court of Japan (the imperial monopoly was only lifted in 1994). Around 100 times more expensive than ordinary silk, it contains a unique peptide that stimulates the skin's natural production of hyaluronic acid. It is this property that gives Sensaï skincare its ability to deliver "SILK SKIN" — supple, smooth and radiant.
