Leather and vanilla

Leather opens carnal and smoky, commanding. The heart, bittersweet, blends licorice and immortelle — a syrupy, almost salty accord, with facets of coffee and cacao. Vanilla signs the base, tender and enveloping. Two sides of the same coin, leather and sweetness, irrevocably entwined.

Expert tip

La proie pour l'ombre comes into its own after dark, in autumn and winter, for a warm, tenacious trail (over twelve hours). One or two sprays are enough. Keep the bottle away from light and temperature swings.

Serge Lutens, born in 1942 in Lille, is a French artist of many talents: photographer, filmmaker, fashion architect and perfume creator. After early work in hairstyling and make-up, he collaborated with prestigious magazines such as Vogue. In 1980 he began a defining collaboration with Shiseido, shaping the brand's visual identity and launching iconic fragrances such as "Féminité du bois" in 1992. In 2000 he founded his own perfume house, Serge Lutens, offering unique, avant-garde olfactory creations. Deeply influenced by Marrakech, where he acquired a residence in 1974, he draws major inspiration from the city for his fragrances. Today, the Serge Lutens house is recognised for its artistic approach and its commitment to originality and quality.
