Shipping policy

Discover our shipping terms for your niche fragrance orders. In France, across Europe or internationally, we offer reliable, carefully packed and fully trackable deliveries, via Colissimo or FedEx depending on the destination.

All orders are shipped from France. Parcels are prepared at the boutique, on its opening days and hours, generally within 1 to 2 working days after payment is received (outside peak periods). The boutique is closed on Sunday and Monday: orders placed on those days, or on a public holiday, are prepared from Tuesday (or the next opening day). As soon as your parcel ships, you receive a tracking link by e-mail.

Preparation & dispatch

All shipments are insured and tracked. Shipping fees include packaging, handling and postage; they may comprise a fixed part and a variable part depending on the weight or the order amount. We recommend grouping your items into a single order: we cannot merge two separate orders, and fees apply to each one. All parcels are oversized and carefully cushioned. The risk of loss or damage is transferred when the parcel is handed over to the carrier, in accordance with applicable provisions.

Shipping fees are displayed automatically at checkout, based on the cart contents and the destination country. The delivery times below are indicative, expressed in business days from dispatch, excluding any customs checks.

Important: these fees cover transport only. For destinations outside the European Union (Andorra, Switzerland, Norway, French Overseas territories, etc.), any customs duties and import taxes apply on top and remain payable by you, and customs clearance on arrival may add several business days to the delivery time — see International deliveries & customs duties.

Zone 2 (no pick-up point): Guernsey, Gibraltar, Vatican City State, Isle of Man, Jersey, San Marino.

Zone 3 (with pick-up point): Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden.

Zone 3 (no pick-up point): Faroe Islands, Greenland, Liechtenstein, Switzerland.

Overseas 2 (OM2): French Polynesia, French Southern Territories, New Caledonia, Wallis and Futuna.

For certain destinations, Colissimo hands final delivery to the local postal network: bpost (Belgium), Deutsche Post (Germany), Post Luxembourg, Poste Italiane (Italy), Austrian Post (Austria). Tracking may then show stages with this partner, or even a local tracking number.

Important: these fees cover transport only. As FedEx destinations are outside the European Union, customs duties and import taxes may apply and remain payable by you — see International deliveries & customs duties.

Delivery times excluding customs: the stated times correspond to transport. For any destination outside the European Union — Colissimo as well as FedEx — customs clearance on arrival may add several business days, varying with customs checks and how quickly the recipient pays the duties and taxes owed. These delays are inherent to the destination country's customs procedures and are beyond the control of Soleil d'Or and the carrier.

International deliveries & customs duties (DAP)

All our international shipments are made under the DAP (Delivered At Place) Incoterm. We ensure delivery to the address provided, but any customs duties, local taxes, handling fees and clearance charges required on import are payable solely by the consumer or recipient, in addition to the order amount and the shipping fees. These charges are entirely their responsibility, both for declaration and for payment to the competent authorities and bodies in their country.

These charges are not included in our prices or in the displayed shipping rates. They may be claimed by customs authorities and/or the carrier before or at the time of delivery. Please note: certain territories sometimes associated with Europe may be treated as imports (VAT/customs) depending on their status.

As these charges vary by delivery country, we invite the consumer to check with their local customs authorities before placing any order.

Customs clearance may extend the delivery time by several days, in particular if the duties and taxes are not paid promptly by the recipient. This additional delay is inherent to the destination country's customs procedures; it cannot give rise to any claim, refund of shipping fees or dispute.

Placing the order constitutes acknowledgement and acceptance of the customs obligations applicable in the destination country. Customs duties and import charges are not valid grounds for a dispute, chargeback or cancellation after dispatch.

Soleil d'Or retains all customs documents and proof of shipment, which may be provided in the event of a dispute.

Indicative import thresholds

Import rules vary by country and may change. The thresholds below are given for guidance only: customs authorities and/or the carrier may apply duties, taxes and handling fees based on the declared value, the nature of the products, the country and the method of transport.

European Union: in principle, no customs duties on arrival for intra-EU deliveries. Note: certain territories (Andorra, Guernsey, Jersey, Gibraltar, Isle of Man, Åland Islands, Faroe Islands, Greenland) may be outside the VAT area / customs union and treated as imports, with taxes and fees on arrival.

French Overseas territories (DOM-TOM): depending on the territory, local taxes (e.g. octroi de mer) and fees may apply on arrival.

United Kingdom: up to £135 per consignment, generally no customs duty and VAT in principle collected at the point of sale (excluding exceptions, notably excise goods); above £135, duties and import VAT may be charged.

United States: since the suspension of the $800 exemption threshold (Section 321) on 29 August 2025, every parcel is now systematically taxed by US customs, regardless of its value. Since 1 March 2026, taxes are calculated according to the actual value and product category (ad valorem taxation). Shipped under DAP: as the importer, you will pay the customs duties and handling (brokerage) fees directly to the carrier before or at the time of delivery.

Canada (shipments from France): up to CAD 20, the shipment may be exempt; above that, duties and taxes may apply depending on the nature of the products and the method of transport.

Switzerland & Liechtenstein: import VAT is generally not levied when the calculated VAT amount is below CHF 5; above that, VAT and clearance fees may apply.

Norway: depending on the value and customs treatment, VAT may be claimed on import, along with fees.

Australia & New Zealand: for low-value consignments (often ≤ AUD / NZD 1,000), local tax may be collected at the point of sale in some cases; above that, taxes and fees may be charged on import.

Other destinations: many countries apply taxes and/or duties from the first euro, with no simple, universal threshold. The carrier may also charge a customs presentation fee.

Customs: recipient's responsibility

Customs duties, local taxes and clearance fees required on import are payable solely by the consumer or recipient. They are entirely their responsibility, both for declaration and for payment to the competent authorities.

If payment of these amounts is refused, no return can be arranged by Soleil d'Or. The parcel may, in accordance with the rules of the carrier and/or the competent authorities, be abandoned or destroyed. Destruction costs will remain payable by the consumer and no refund can be issued.

Soleil d'Or retains all customs documents and proof of shipment and delivery for each order, which may be provided to any competent body in the event of a dispute or chargeback procedure.

Returns & right of withdrawal

You have 14 days to notify us of a return. For hygiene reasons, only fragrances and cosmetics that are still sealed (unopened) can be accepted, in accordance with Article L221-28 of the French Consumer Code. Return fees are €8 via Colissimo (from approximately €25 via FedEx outside Colissimo zones), deducted from your refund.
