Five o'clock au gingembre is an English escapade in Serge Lutens' work: an evocation of the five o'clock tea ritual, built around candied ginger and a steaming cup.

Tea and bergamot open the composition like an Earl Grey; the heart warms with candied ginger, cinnamon and wood; the base, dark and dry, blends bitter cacao, honey, amber, pepper and patchouli. A gourmand for those who don't like gourmands.

Composed by Christopher Sheldrake under the direction of Serge Lutens, Five o'clock au gingembre is a cosy, discreet fragrance, perfect for cool days.

SERGE LUTENS

Serge Lutens, born in 1942 in Lille, is a French artist of many talents: photographer, filmmaker, fashion architect and perfume creator. After early work in hairstyling and make-up, he collaborated with prestigious magazines such as Vogue. In 1980 he began a defining collaboration with Shiseido, shaping the brand's visual identity and launching iconic fragrances such as "Féminité du bois" in 1992. In 2000 he founded his own perfume house, Serge Lutens, offering unique, avant-garde olfactory creations. Deeply influenced by Marrakech, where he acquired a residence in 1974, he draws major inspiration from the city for his fragrances. Today, the Serge Lutens house is recognised for its artistic approach and its commitment to originality and quality.
