Perris Monte Carlo: 5 collections to explore the world's rarest raw materials

Gian Luca Perris and the Perris family heritage since 1981

Gian Luca Perris was born in Rome into a family dedicated to beauty and perfumery for over 50 years. Perris Group — founded in 1981 by his father Michele Perris — became a global name in cosmetics and perfumes, collaborating with international designers and houses. Gian Luca joined the family business after studying economics. Building on this experience, he created Perris Monte Carlo in Monaco in 2011 with one conviction: "return to the heart of perfumery, focusing on the perfume itself rather than on marketing." The house works with the most noble raw materials — oud, ambergris, Tahitian vanilla, Pacific sandalwood — respecting traditional extraction methods. Its perfumers: Jean-Claude Ellena (Parfums de Grasse collection since 2019), Luca Maffei, Mathieu Nardin (Robertet, from Grasse), Jacques Flori and Jean-Michel Santorini (Robertet). Eco-responsibility: plastic-free packaging since 2020, FSC-certified materials.

Gold, Black, Grasse, Italy & Extraits: 5 collections around the most precious materials

The Gold Collection — tribute to the Middle East, gold-nuanced flacons: Oud Impérial (oud-patchouli oriental · also as Extrait) · Rose de Taïf (rare Arabian rose floral · also as Extrait) · Ambre Gris (authentic ambergris oriental) · Musk Extrême (musky). The Black Collection — the most intense raw materials: Vanille de Tahiti (creamy, exotic vanilla · also as Extrait) · Santal du Pacifique (woody · Extrait) · Cacao Aztèque (oriental · Extrait) · Encens Sacré · Patchouli Nosy Be · Tubéreuse Absolue · Absolue d'Osmanthe. The Parfums de Grasse collection — with Jean-Claude Ellena — celebrates Grasse (UNESCO heritage since 2018): Rose de Mai · Jasmin de Pays · Lavande Romaine · Mimosa Tanneron · Ylang Ylang Nosy Be. The Italy Collection — the excellence of Italian citrus (Capua, producers since 1880): Arancia di Sicilia (hesperidic) · Bergamotto di Calabria · Mandarino di Sicilia · Cedro di Diamante · Neroli Mediterraneo. Every creation also exists as an Extrait de Parfum — ultra-concentrated version.

Questions fréquentes sur les parfums PERRIS MONTE CARLO

Who is Gian Luca Perris?

Gian Luca Perris is the founder, Creative Director and nose of Perris Monte Carlo. He is from the 2nd generation of the Perris family — his father Michele Perris founded Perris Group in 1981, which became a global name in cosmetics and perfumes. Born in Rome, Gian Luca joined the family business after studying economics. In 2011, he created Perris Monte Carlo in Monaco to "return to the heart of perfumery" — focus on the perfume itself, noble raw materials, traditional extraction methods, away from mass marketing.

What is the difference between the Gold Collection and the Black Collection?

The Gold Collection — the house's first 4 perfumes, inspired by the Middle East, gold-nuanced flacons: Oud Impérial, Rose de Taïf, Ambre Gris, Musk Extrême. The Black Collection — the rarest, most intense raw materials, black flacons: Vanille de Tahiti, Santal du Pacifique, Cacao Aztèque, Tubéreuse Absolue… Each collection exists in EDP and ultra-concentrated Extrait de Parfum.

What is the Perris Monte Carlo best-seller?

Vanille de Tahiti is the house's most popular perfume — a creamy, exotic, enveloping Tahitian vanilla, also available as Extrait de Parfum. Oud Impérial is the Gold Collection icon — powerful, refined oud-patchouli oriental. Rose de Taïf — rare Arabian rose — is one of the most poetic. Our discovery box lets you test the house.

What is the Parfums de Grasse collection with Jean-Claude Ellena?

In 2019, Gian Luca Perris partnered with Jean-Claude Ellena — the legendary Hermès nose (L'Eau des Merveilles, Terre d'Hermès, Kelly Calèche) — to create the Parfums de Grasse collection. Grasse has been listed as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage since 2018. Every perfume celebrates an emblematic raw material from the region: Rose de Mai · Jasmin de Pays · Lavande Romaine · Mimosa Tanneron · Ylang Ylang Nosy Be. A meeting between Monegasque craftsmanship and the Provençal capital of perfumery.

Which Perris Monte Carlo collection to start with?

For a first Perris Monte Carlo, the Black Collection offers the most diverse entry: Vanille de Tahiti (vanilla · universal) · Santal du Pacifique (woody · soft) · Cacao Aztèque (oriental · gourmand). For lovers of intense orientals: Oud Impérial or Rose de Taïf (Gold Collection). For delicate Grasse florals: Rose de Mai or Jasmin de Pays. Our discovery box lets you test before investing.
