La religieuse

La religieuse was born of Serge Lutens' childhood and his ambivalent relationship with religion. Its composition is a struggle between good and evil, white and black — a jasmine of the Collection noire.

White jasmine, pure as snow, embodies its light; incense and musk, darker, form its shadow; an animalic civet signs its troubled side. A mystical soliflore, at once angelic and sensual.

Composed by Christopher Sheldrake under the direction of Serge Lutens, La religieuse is a discreet jasmine, close to the skin, worn in every season.

SERGE LUTENS

Serge Lutens, born in 1942 in Lille, is a French artist of many talents: photographer, filmmaker, fashion architect and perfume creator. After early work in hairstyling and make-up, he collaborated with prestigious magazines such as Vogue. In 1980 he began a defining collaboration with Shiseido, shaping the brand's visual identity and launching iconic fragrances such as "Féminité du bois" in 1992. In 2000 he founded his own perfume house, Serge Lutens, offering unique, avant-garde olfactory creations. Deeply influenced by Marrakech, where he acquired a residence in 1974, he draws major inspiration from the city for his fragrances. Today, the Serge Lutens house is recognised for its artistic approach and its commitment to originality and quality.
