Jovoy Paris Perfumes – The House of Rare Fragrance

Jovoy Paris: the Embassy of Rare Perfumes

Jovoy, a house born in 1923 and revived by François Hénin

Jovoy is a Parisian house born in 1923, founded by Blanche Arvoy, an innovative perfumer and a contemporary of Coco Chanel. Forgotten during the 20th century, the brand was revived by François Hénin, a globe-trotter and former raw-materials trader in Vietnam. He also opened the multi-brand boutique at 4 rue de Castiglione, known as the Embassy of Rare Perfumes, and founded Jeroboam.

The signature fragrances of the Jovoy house

The Jovoy pantheon brings together Fire at Will, a gourmand of vanilla and honeyed mimosa, Remember Me, an oriental of spiced chai, Psychédélique, an overdose of patchouli, along with Musc Pallas, La Liturgie des Heures and Ha Long Bay.

The perfumers of the Jovoy house

François Hénin commissions fragrances from different noses around precise themes, steering them with his globe-trotter's eye: Vanina Muracciole for Fire at Will and Musc Pallas, Cécile Zarokian for Remember Me, and Jacques Flori for Psychédélique. All share a recognisable signature: an unapologetic narrative, demanding materials, and a style that favours evocation over description.

Who is Jovoy Paris for, and when to wear it?

Jovoy speaks to the niche-curious, those who like fragrances that provoke and start conversations. The house is unisex by temperament. Its fruity and floral creations shine in the mid-seasons, while the woody and oriental ones come into their own in autumn and winter. If you enjoy Jovoy, explore Jeroboam Paris too, François Hénin's other house.

How to choose your Jovoy Paris fragrance?

Hesitating between Fire at Will and Remember Me is normal: niche perfumery is an intimate matter. The 15 ml format is an excellent way in, and our custom discovery box — five 2 mL samples hand-prepared from our catalogue — lets you compare at home.

Jovoy Paris at Soleil d'Or, a Lille perfumery since 1953

Founded in 1953 by Jeanne Muyllaert on the Grand'Place in Lille, Soleil d'Or is an independent perfumery passed down through the generations. Hubert Maës (third generation) made it a niche perfumery reference; today his daughters Victorine and Apolline Maës (fourth generation) uphold that standard at 22 rue de la Clef, Lille (59800). Our team lets you try the Jovoy fragrances on skin, with expert advice and guided trials.
