At the top, neroli, lemon and black pepper open on a sparkling freshness. The heart, solar, blends orange blossom, geranium and ylang-ylang. The base, warm and saline, weaves immortelle, vetiver and white musk. A creation signed by Alexandra Carlin.

Jean-David gave me the Madeline Miller novel that lends this fragrance its name. I wanted to restore its sensuality, those emotions that surface page after page. I imagined a chameleon orange blossom, resting on a bed of musks, by turns virginal and warlike. I paired it with immortelle, warm and salty — a nod to the Mediterranean and to Achilles' heel. The geranium traces a deceptive fern-like sling, echoing the ambiguous feelings that bind the two heroes.
