Chergui

Chergui borrows its name from the east wind that blows across the Sahara — a scorching breath that Serge Lutens rendered as a honeyed oriental, at once solar and melancholy. It is one of the most beloved fragrances of the Collection noire.

Everything here evokes the end of a hot day: dry hay and powdery iris open onto an opulent heart of honey, blond tobacco and incense, ambered and musky. Sandalwood signs its trail, creamy and tenacious.

Composed by Christopher Sheldrake under the direction of Serge Lutens, Chergui is happily worn once autumn and winter arrive, when its golden warmth reveals its full density.

Expert tip

A Serge Lutens perfume favors, as far as possible, the use of top-quality raw materials of natural origin. They alone guarantee a true evolution of the perfume on the skin. The house

SERGE LUTENS

Serge Lutens, born in 1942 in Lille, is a French artist of many talents: photographer, filmmaker, fashion architect and perfume creator. After early work in hairstyling and make-up, he collaborated with prestigious magazines such as Vogue. In 1980 he began a defining collaboration with Shiseido, shaping the brand's visual identity and launching iconic fragrances such as "Féminité du bois" in 1992. In 2000 he founded his own perfume house, Serge Lutens, offering unique, avant-garde olfactory creations. Deeply influenced by Marrakech, where he acquired a residence in 1974, he draws major inspiration from the city for his fragrances. Today, the Serge Lutens house is recognised for its artistic approach and its commitment to originality and quality.
