L'Orpheline

L'Orpheline is one of Serge Lutens' most enigmatic fragrances: a cold, mineral incense in which the artist stages "the orphan part" of himself, suspended between moon and earth.

Black pepper and incense open the composition with a dry, icy smoke; patchouli warms the heart; the base, woody and musky, blends dry woods and white musk. A pared-back trail, clear and melancholy.

Composed by Christopher Sheldrake under the direction of Serge Lutens, L'Orpheline is a discreet incense, close to the skin, worn in every season.

Expert tip

A Serge Lutens perfume favors, as far as possible, the use of top-quality raw materials of natural origin. They alone guarantee a true evolution of the perfume on the skin. SERGE LUTENS

Serge Lutens, born in 1942 in Lille, is a French artist of many talents: photographer, filmmaker, fashion architect and perfume creator. After early work in hairstyling and make-up, he collaborated with prestigious magazines such as Vogue. In 1980 he began a defining collaboration with Shiseido, shaping the brand's visual identity and launching iconic fragrances such as "Féminité du bois" in 1992. In 2000 he founded his own perfume house, Serge Lutens, offering unique, avant-garde olfactory creations. Deeply influenced by Marrakech, where he acquired a residence in 1974, he draws major inspiration from the city for his fragrances. Today, the Serge Lutens house is recognised for its artistic approach and its commitment to originality and quality.
