Bergamotto di Calabria

Bergamotto di Calabria opens the journey to the sources of sun-drenched Italy — that of the Phoenicians, Greeks, Arabs and Normans — through its most precious citrus fruit: bergamot, halfway between lemon and bitter orange, the princess of perfumery found in most great formulas.

To finally give it the honour it deserves, the house returned to time-honoured gestures: cutting with a curved knife that keeps only the peel — the “Bergamotto Spugna” — then circular pressing on a natural sponge to collect the essence. It takes two hundred kilos of fruit to make one litre of this exceptional oil, fruity and delicately floral.

For the Italy Collection, Gian Luca Perris and Luca Maffei have made this freshness lasting and energetic, lifted by exotic touches, flowered with neroli and jasmine, anchored by iris, cedar and vetiver. A precious Italian citrus to be discovered drop by drop.
