Oud Imperial

Oud Imperial is born beneath the green canopy of South-East Asian forests, where light barely filters through and where, in the mist of beginnings, rise the immense Aquilaria trees. Within their heart hides a treasure: agarwood. Al Oud. The wood of the gods.

By a whim of nature, the most precious of perfumes is born of an imperfection: to defend itself against a mould, the Aquilaria produces a dark, aromatic resin, known among different peoples as Gaharu, Jinko, Aloe, agarwood or simply oud. Perfume in the biblical sense of the word, as suited to the deepest meditation as to the most ardent sensuality.

For the Black Collection, this rediscovery of oud in modern life is surrounded by golden and dark notes — incense, saffron, patchouli, sandalwood, cedar, labdanum, vetiver — before the dark woody fragrance releases its full power of seduction.
