Description

The central raw material of Bois d’Ébène is the Cabreuva oil from Brazil: a dense, amber wood, warm and textured. On this base, the fragrance builds a “patchwork of dark woods”: the Indonesian guaiac brings its smoky and balsamic facet, while the Indonesian patchouli reinforces the depth. The woody density is brightened by the addition of cypriol oil (nagarmotha) from India, which gives an earthy and persistent pulse.

The olfactory structure opens with the resinous freshness of juniper berries, which introduces an aromatic and striking character. The woody heart intensifies with guaiac, while the base relies on patchouli and cypriol to establish a rich, distinguished trail, carried by dry woods but with an inner warmth. Bois d'Ébène is an embodied rendering of the balance between darkness and woody elegance — an olfactory journey into deep woods, without excess, faithful to the minimalist signature of Matière Première.
