A mosaic of dark woods

Rather than a single material, Bois d'Ébène gathers a constellation of deep woods from around the world around an overdose of cabreuva. Juniper opens the composition with a green, vibrant brightness; smoky guaiac and nagarmotha deepen it, while patchouli anchors the whole in an amber warmth, dense and enveloping.

The expert's advice

Apply this woody scent to clothing and pulse points to reveal its lasting trail; avoid rubbing to preserve the layering of the woods. Store the bottle away from light and heat.

Rather than relying on a single material, I built the overdose around cabreuva by bringing together a mosaic of dark, amber woods from all over the world — an assemblage, not one isolated ingredient.
