« It took me a while to find how to structure this out-of-the-ordinary perfume. I had my accord combining three sage extracts with various spices evoking the skin, but they needed to be assembled in a logical, harmonious way. I tried many structures, and it was within a woody, musky foundation that the whole formula made sense. While spices naturally go well with wood, the vetiver – sandalwood – warm musks ensemble revealed the skin and animalic facets of the sage. I also had great fun working with wheat absolute, a material I rarely use. It brings a tactile dimension and reinforces the carnal dimension of the notes that linger on the skin. »
