The story of ExpLOud

ExpLOud was born of an encounter: Laboratorio Olfattivo and Pierre Guéros, a Symrise perfumer, seasoned traveller and keen connoisseur of the Middle East. The house entrusted him with a single brief — to give shape to its vision of oud.

The result takes the material against the grain. Where oud usually tells a dark, opaque story, ExpLOud makes it burst into full light: black pepper, nutmeg and red berries open on a sharp, resinous stroke, a heart of gardenia and modern florals (Magnolan®, Lilybelle®) lightens the wood, and the base of Oud Ajmal and Oud Boya, sandalwood album, Madagascar vetiver and patchouli turns ambery without ever growing heavy.

Composed by Pierre Guéros for Laboratorio Olfattivo's Classic Collection Nera, ExpLOud is a unisex woody floral to wear in the cold season, from day to night.
