The story of La dompteuse encagée

La dompteuse encagée is a floral rarity in Serge Lutens' work: a white, solar frangipani, brighter and more radiant than the house's darker compositions, within the Collection noire.

Frangipani, creamy and heady, opens the composition; ylang-ylang enriches the heart; a subtle almond, almost like marzipan, softens the base. A radiant white floral, with a gourmand, tropical sweetness.

Composed by Christopher Sheldrake under the direction of Serge Lutens, La dompteuse encagée blooms in fine weather, from spring to summer.

SERGE LUTENS

Serge Lutens, born in 1942 in Lille, is a French artist of many talents: photographer, filmmaker, fashion architect and perfume creator. After early work in hairstyling and make-up, he collaborated with prestigious magazines such as Vogue. In 1980 he began a defining collaboration with Shiseido, shaping the brand's visual identity and launching iconic fragrances such as "Féminité du bois" in 1992. In 2000 he founded his own perfume house, Serge Lutens, offering unique, avant-garde olfactory creations. Deeply influenced by Marrakech, where he acquired a residence in 1974, he draws major inspiration from the city for his fragrances. Today, the Serge Lutens house is recognised for its artistic approach and its commitment to originality and quality.
