Hanae Mori, a pioneer of Japanese fashion, founded her couture house in 1951 and became the first Asian designer admitted to the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture in 1977. Her creations blend Western elegance with Eastern spirituality, in a constant quest for perfection and openness. In 1995, she launched Butterfly, her emblematic fragrance, a symbol of beauty and transformation inspired by the butterfly — her birth sign.
