What is a woody perfume?

The woody family is the backbone of niche perfumery. It brings together perfumes whose dominant accord is built around Mysore sandalwood, Atlas cedar, Haitian vetiver, Arabian oud, patchouli, dry papyrus. A founding family of haute parfumerie that completely traverses contemporary creation, from the structural eaux of the great heritage maisons to the most precious extraits of contemporary niche.

Questions fréquentes sur les parfums Woody Perfumes

What is a woody perfume?

A woody perfume is built on ligneous raw materials: sandalwood, cedar, gaiac, vetiver or oud. The niche woody perfumes at Soleil d'Or — Creed, Profumum Roma, Nobile 1942 — use traceable-origin ingredients of incomparable complexity and persistence.

What is the difference between a woody and an oriental perfume?

Woodys rely on dry, elegant ligneous materials. Oriental perfumes add vivid spices (saffron, cardamom) and burnt oud for more dramatic intensity. A woody is generally more sober and everyday; an oriental is more opulent and festive.

How do you choose between a woody and a leather perfume?

If you love the dry depth of wood, stay in the woodys. If you are drawn to something more animal with a note of tanned leather, explore our leather perfumes — Memo and Bohoboco excel here.

Are woody perfumes unisex?

Yes — this is one of the most gender-neutral families in niche perfumery. Creed, Caron and Profumum Roma create woodys that women and men wear with equal pleasure.

What is the best woody perfume at Soleil d'Or?

The answer depends on your profile. Our woody discovery box selects 5 samples matched to your olfactory profile — creamy sandalwood, dry cedar, smoky vetiver or intense oud — to guide you to your ideal woody signature.
