The spirit of the line
Amber is not a note but an accord: balsams, resins, vanilla and woods meet inside it. L'Univers Ambré gives two opposite versions of it, one warm and spicy, the other leathery and powdery. This is the densest part of the Creed catalogue, the one that lasts longest on skin.
The fragrances in the line
Ambre Centaurus sets cardamom and cinnamon over a base of tolu balsam, benzoin, tobacco and vanilla: a solar, almost resinous amber. Ambre Delphinus takes the other slope, with almond, incense, leather, heliotrope and orris butter — shadier, more powdery.
Who wears it, and when?
