The Matières Collection is the matter line of BDK Parfums, maison parisienne founded in 2016. Five creations that put noble ingredients in the foreground: agarwood, Haitian vetiver, leather, white magnolia, tonka bean. A soliflore-like approach that places the matter at the heart of the writing, in the line of great Parisian houses (Frédéric Malle, Editions de Parfums) which renewed the niche around the central material.

The five creations of the Matières Collection

The Matières Collection brings together Oud Abramad, Velvet Tonka, Magnolia Mood, Vetiver Mood and Leather Mood — five compositions that highlight five noble materials of contemporary perfumery, each highlighted by a precise narrative architecture (oud Abramad evokes the Aleppo souk, Velvet Tonka the velvet of an apartment).

A contemporary reading of the matter

The Matières Collection cultivates a writing typical of contemporary Parisian niche: the noble matter, but not in the traditional soliflore. Where the great heritage tradition (Houbigant Les Matières, Goutal Eau d'Hadrien) often cultivates the soliflore in its purest form, BDK injects context, story, atmosphere into each composition. A modern reading where the matter is celebrated but inscribed in a narrative frame.
