Product Description

The Foundation Brush, La Mer's makeup brush: tapered and set with synthetic bristles, it lays fluid foundation down in an even veil, with no streaks or visible edges.

The Foundation Brush is built for one thing: spreading a fluid texture without leaving a mark. Its tapered head follows the contours of the face, from the top of the cheekbone to the side of the nose, and lets the formula melt in rather than build up.

Synthetic bristles do not drink the product: the amount picked up is the amount that reaches the skin, which makes coverage predictable and easy to modulate. The weighted, balanced handle can be held close to the ferrule for precision or higher up for larger areas.

This is the tool of a clean finish: one light pass over the whole face, then a few taps where more coverage is wanted. Nothing shows, everything is felt.

Application tips

Take a small amount of fluid foundation onto the back of the hand. Load the brush, place the formula at the centre of the face, then sweep outwards in supple strokes to the edge of the face and the neck. To build coverage, tap flat over the area rather than adding a second full layer.

Expert tip: wash the brush once a week in lukewarm water with a mild soap, massaging the bristles in the palm with the ferrule pointing down so water does not travel into the glue. Rinse until the water runs clear, reshape the head, then leave it to dry flat on a towel — never upright and never with a hairdryer.
