Xerjoff: Italian haute parfumerie cut like a jewel

Sergio Momo and the birth of the Turin maison

Xerjoff was born in 2007 in Turin from the imagination of Sergio Momo, a designer and adman trained in London who learned perfumery in Grasse in 2005 before founding his maison. The name unites "Joff" (his childhood nickname, given by his Slavic grandmother) and "Sir" (the appellation of his former English colleagues). His philosophy fits in one phrase: to create "a work of art within a work of art", where the bottle is as precious as the juice it contains. This obsession translates into crystals, semi-precious stones and bespoke finishes.

The maison's signature scents

The Xerjoff pantheon brings together ERBA PURA, NAXOS, ERBA GOLD, OPERA and ALEXANDRIA II, a roster that covers all the facets of the Italian writing signed by Sergio Momo.

Eight collections to explore Xerjoff

The maison structures its catalogue into eight differentiated lines. The Shooting Stars collection gathers the signature olfactive personalities. The Vibe collection unfolds the contemporary, solar creations. The Oud Stars collection gathers precious ouds. The 17/17 Stone Label collection pushes art-within-art to the extreme with bottles set with semi-precious stones. The 1861, Coffee Break, Spotlight and Join the Club collections complete the universe.

Who is Xerjoff for, and when to wear it?

Xerjoff speaks to those who embrace opulence in perfumery: bold trail, rich materials, generous Italian writing. The house is unisex. Fruity and hesperidic creations shine in mid-season, while orientals, gourmands and ambers come into their own in autumn and winter. If you enjoy Xerjoff, you will also want to explore Casamorati (relaunched by Sergio Momo himself), Profumum Roma and Laboratorio Olfattivo, three other Italian signatures at Soleil d'Or.

Questions fréquentes sur les parfums Xerjoff

What does the name Xerjoff mean?

The name Xerjoff is a personal invention of Sergio Momo. It unites two nicknames: "Joff" — the childhood nickname given to him by his Slavic grandmother — and "Sir" — the address used by his London colleagues when he worked in advertising in London. "Sir Joff" became "Xerjoff". It is a brand that carries its founder's intimate history — between Italy, Slavic roots and England.

What is the Xerjoff best-seller?

Naxos (1861 collection) is the house's absolute icon — a honey, lavender, tobacco and cinnamon aromatic of exceptional complexity and longevity. Erba Pura (XJ collection) is the global bestseller — a sunny, musky fruity that is among the most-worn perfumes in niche perfumery. Alexandria II is the most revered of the house's orientals. Our discovery box lets you test before investing.

Why are Xerjoff flacons so exceptional?

Sergio Momo's philosophy is to create "a work of art within a work of art". Every Xerjoff flacon is designed as a collector's object: the first collections (17/17 Stone Label, Shooting Stars) are adorned with semi-precious stones, meteorite fragments and gold-plated caps. Every material is chosen in coherence with the fragrance's olfactory universe. The flacons are made by Italian artisans — the avant-garde form and golden caps reflect an authentic Turinese luxury.

What is the difference between Xerjoff and Casamorati?

Xerjoff (2007) is Sergio Momo's main house — contemporary, luxurious, bold, global. Casamorati 1888 is a historic Bologna house founded in 1888 by Claudio Casamorati, relaunched by Sergio Momo in 2009 with an Art Nouveau aesthetic and deliberate vintage touch — pompoms on flacons, Belle Époque packaging. The two houses coexist under the same founder: Xerjoff for Italian avant-garde, Casamorati for 19th-century perfumery heritage.

Which Xerjoff collections to start with?

For a first Xerjoff, the XJ collection is the most accessible: Erba Pura (universal fruity · global bestseller) is the ideal entry point. Accento (elegant floral) is perfect for a more floral profile. For a characterful aromatic: Naxos (honey-lavender-tobacco) is a revelation. For oriental: Alexandria II stands out. Our discovery box lets you explore the house before committing to a full bottle.
