BDK Parfums: David Benedek Kertész's Parisian perfume studio
A house founded in 2016 at the Palais-Royal
BDK Parfums was born in 2016, in the Palais-Royal district of Paris. Its founder, David Benedek Kertész, grew up in the world of perfumery: born in Paris in 1989 to a father of Romanian origin and a mother born on the Algeria-Morocco border, he is the grandson of Transylvanian exiles who were, in the 1950s, among the first people authorised to distribute great names such as Worth and Christian Dior in Paris. The initials BDK are his own: he preferred them to his full name to suggest a collective creative studio rather than a personal brand.
The signature fragrances of the Parisian house
The BDK pantheon brings together Impadia, Gris Charnel, the powdery musk that launched the international reputation of the house, Rouge Smoking, Velvet Tonka and 312 Saint-Honoré, whose name borrows from a Paris address. Several of these creations also exist as perfume extracts.
A style driven by storytelling
The house claims singular fragrances, infused with allure, passion and character, carried by moments and instants. Its creations echo the world of words and narrative, inspiring tales as imaginary as they are real — with no predefined roadmap, but guided by the work of craftspeople and the richness of the raw materials.
Five collections, one vision
The Collection Parisienne is the narrative heart of the house. The Collection Matières puts precious ingredients centre stage, the Collection Studio gathers the absolus built on precious woods, the Collection Azur evokes the Mediterranean and the Collection Exclusive brings together the confidential editions.
Who is BDK for, and when to wear it?
BDK speaks to lovers of contemporary Parisian perfumery, looking for a recognisable trail without heaviness. The house is unisex. Its floral and aromatic creations shine in the warmer months, while the gourmand, leathery and amber ones come into their own in autumn and winter.

BDK Parfums at Soleil d'Or, a Lille perfumery since 1953
Founded in 1953 by Jeanne Muyllaert on the Grand'Place in Lille, Soleil d'Or is an independent perfumery passed down through the generations. Hubert Maës (third generation) made it a niche perfumery reference; today his daughters Victorine and Apolline Maës (fourth generation) uphold that standard at 22 rue de la Clef, Lille (59800). Our team walks you through the entire BDK catalogue, with expert advice and guided trials.
