Essential Parfums: French fine perfumery at a fair price
A Parisian house born of a conviction
Essential Parfums took flight in 2018 under the impetus of Géraldine Archambault, with thirty years of experience in the fragrance industry behind her. Her vision ran against the grain: to democratise access to fine perfumery while honouring the art of perfumers. In practice, every creation is entrusted to a great nose whose name appears on the bottle — a rare recognition in a sector where authors often remain anonymous.
The signature fragrances and their perfumers
Bois Impérial, a spicy woody signed by Quentin Bisch, is by far the most sought-after reference of the house. The Musc carries the signature of Calice Becker, Orange X Santal that of Natalie Gracia-Cetto, and Ambre Latte that of Jordi Fernández. To these are added Nice Bergamote, Fig Infusion and Divine Vanille.
A committed, refillable perfumery
The house opened a new generation of French niche perfumery: selected raw materials, refillable bottles and accessible prices, with no compromise on quality. At Soleil d'Or we make a point of stocking refillable formats whenever houses offer them: they are more economical in use and lighter on packaging.
Who is Essential Parfums for, and when to wear it?
The house speaks to those discovering fine perfumery, or looking for remarkable material quality without the price tag of traditional niche. It is unisex. Its citrus and musky creations are worn every day, while the woody ones suit every season. If you enjoy this house, explore Matière Première too, another accessible French signature at Soleil d'Or.
How to choose your Essential Parfums fragrance?
Hesitating between Bois Impérial and The Musc is normal: niche perfumery is an intimate matter. Our custom discovery box — five 2 mL samples hand-prepared from our catalogue — lets you compare at home. The 10 ml format is also an excellent way in.
Essential Parfums at Soleil d'Or, a Lille perfumery since 1953
Founded in 1953 by Jeanne Muyllaert on the Grand'Place in Lille, Soleil d'Or is an independent perfumery passed down through the generations. Hubert Maës (third generation) made it a niche perfumery reference; today his daughters Victorine and Apolline Maës (fourth generation) uphold that standard at 22 rue de la Clef, Lille (59800). Our team lets you try these perfumes on skin, with expert advice and guided trials.
