Description

“While we were at the foot of the Aztec pyramids of Teotihuacan, we had a dream. This dream was filled with a scent that never existed. Xocolatl. The drink of the gods. When we returned, we did some tests. Selected cocoa beans, pepper, cardamom and more tuberose... The colors of the earth and the sky... A scent resurrected from the past...” [travel notes]

To begin with, the value and use of cacao by the Aztecs has nothing to do with those we know. Exciting and spicy, Xocolatl was a potion reserved for kings to whom it conferred wisdom and power equal to the gods. To recreate the magical universe of Central America, we started with the cacao tree and its brown beans. We added spices and rum. Scents of earth and desert. Dense and liquorish notes. The result is a perfume that takes hold of us and distils a few drops of this lost magic into our daily lives.

A perfume that lets the mind wander in the company of Carlos Castaneda, a modern shaman, the great Federico Fellini and his “Journey to Tulum”, a film dreamed of but never made.
