Description

Serge Lutens revisits the well-known expression to create a fable about the impossibility of some people to choose. Tormented by the absence of resolution, refugees in a world of chimeras and illusions, they have given up the prey for the shadow...
The sweetness of vanilla or the authority of leather, there is no choice! Here, like two sides of the same coin, they oppose and confront each other, but their destiny is irremediably linked.

"In you prophet you carry his cross, a blood other than yours flows in your flesh, cursed be this couple in me who did this way, that I let go of the prey for the shadow.
Mixed in a single feeling, the vanilla caress and the snap of a leather strap here awaken the ambiguity of the two sides of the same fable." Serge Lutens

Designed by Serge Lutens as a signature fragrance collection, the Gratte-ciel design takes us back to the New York skyline aesthetic of the 1920s and 1930s. Perfection of a lacquered black, beveled edges as sharp as the tip of a Chrysler Building, this iconic bottle draws its influences from Art Deco to embody a new modernity, the avant-garde of a style in the firmament.

Strong alcohols with Proustian accents, Serge Lutens perfumery has been bottling legendary olfactory creations for over 20 years. From "Féminité du bois", to "Ambre sultan", "La fille de Berlin"..., each perfume embodies an exceptional story and a unique signature.
