Description

"Incense, an ancient essence of the soul, has crossed the millennia, suspended between earth and sky. In the rituals of the first civilizations, it burned as a sacred offering, carrying dreams and prayers to the divine. We have retraced the paths of incense and selected for us the most singular quality, coming from Somalia. Its scent has captivated us, impregnated us and intoxicated us..." (travel notes)

The essence of frankincense comes from the resin of the Boswellia carterii tree. The best quality comes from Somalia. The harvest period extends from November to February; during this period, the bark of the trees is incised to allow the resin to flow out. After a few days, the resin hardens, forming a gum ready for the extraction of the essential oil.

ENCENS SACRÉ was born from the search for a sublime balance between two olfactory nuances of incense: the essence extracted by distillation, with a sweet, mineral, balsamic note, and the essence obtained by high-temperature distillation, offering the true impression of burnt incense, paying homage to the ancient art of fumigation. Supporting this duality, a floral heart of Moroccan Rose and Jasmine and a warm base of Amber, Patchouli and Sandalwood.
